The Great American Smoke Out

The Great American Smoke Out

The Great American Smoke Out is an annual event encouraging smokers to learn ways to quit. USAFP fully supports the mission with wellness initiatives including our Tobacco-Free Facility Policy. This policy requires employees to refrain from using all tobacco products on company grounds, job sites, and company vehicles. Smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease, disability, and death in the United States. USAFP’s policy urges employees to create a plan to quit, offering a variety of fully funded Smoking Cessation programs through our Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).

Smoking is not only dangerous to a person’s health, it can also lead to home structure fires. According to the NFPA, smoking materials such as cigarettes and cigars cause about 5% of reported home fires and 21% of home fire deaths. Cutting out the use of tobacco could save your life and your property.
